Advances in our understanding of nutrition and diet regulation resulting from over fifty years' worth of nutritional research suggest that a properly balanced diet, along with some canine supplements, can be an important part of your dog's diet. Supplements are different than vitamins because they often provide some type of mineral, fatty acid or dietary additive that encourages more efficient absorption in the body or uptake by cells. They can be used to compensate for too little of substances, like iodine, or correct an imbalance between minerals like calcium and magnesium, providing benefits such as; aiding in pet skin conditions, reducing inflammation, improving cognitive function, improving mobility, regulating thyroid function and metablolism.

Following the trend away from commercially prepared diets, we have recognised, researched and identified nutritional deficiencies in our animals, notably iodine. In response, YelpKelp® has been specifically developed to balance and support a naturally prepared or raw food diet.

YelpKelp® has been developed with the assistance of specialist animal nutritionists and supervised, reviewed and approved by industry regulatory bodies. It has been formulated to meet AAFCO requirements based on calculations from published standard nutrient values for ingredients.

It’s all about quality and our blend ensure our ingredients are pure, powerful and traceable. Driven by the desire to source the purest of ingredients, we have hand-selected ours from the pristine waters around the world. Our high-potency organic kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) is sourced from Akaroa Harbour New Zealand, and the specifically sourced MariVet® which features fucoidan extracted in Tasmania from certified organic wakame (Undaria pinnatifida) from the pristine waters of Patagonia and Tasmania and bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) from the clear northern hemisphere waters of Nova Scotia and Brittany.

Kelp and other seaweeds are highly nutritious and can play an essential dietary role as they boast over 60 essential trace minerals, vitamins and amino acids, such as potassium and iodine which are good for the heart and thyroid respectively. Seaweed helps maintain healthy fur, skin and nails whilst also assisting in weight management by regulating metabolism.

YelpKelp’s not-so-secret-ingredient and bioactive compound is fucoidan. Found naturally in brown seaweeds, specifically wakame, fucoidans are a complex polysaccharide that protect the plant from water-borne pathogens and other environmental challenges. They also do an amazing job at protecting our pets too. Scientific studies have shown fucoidan has the potential to inhibit cancer cells and reduce tumour growth, reduce colitis symptoms and gut inflammation, lung pathology caused by viral infection, as well as symptoms of osteoarthritis. At the same time, the superfood has shown the potential to significantly increase immune markers, feeding efficiency and digestibility, disease resistance and wound healing. Fucoidan also helps provide protection from oxidative damage which enables dogs to maintain cognitive function as they age. This can help prevent inflammatory responses in the brain while providing neuroprotective properties in relation to dementia in dogs. YelpKelp® contains only premium certified organic fucoidan, MariVet®, extracted and created in Tasmania. For further information visitwww.marinova.com.au

YelpKelp® may help support dogs deficient in iodine including problems such as hypothyroidism, weight issues and a general lack of energy. Nutritent-rich sea vegetables include iodine and minerals essential for the production of thyroid hormones that help regulate metabolism and brain development. They also have a high concentration of glutathione naturally sealed in their tissues that helps cut down on inflammation throughout the body by acting as antioxidants and free radical scavengers. All whilst boosting other detoxifying enzymes including superoxide dismutase which breaks down toxic molecules before they can damage cells within the body.
